As I sit and wait for the kids to go to sleep to allow for Father Christmas to come it’s time to reflect on a whole year which the world, if possible, has been working from home due to Covid-19.
It still only seems like yesterday that we got sent home from work. Got sent into the unknown. With most thinking it would last a few months at most, yet 21 months on there doesn’t appear to be an end in sight. My last update I reflected on the same and it doesn’t seem like it’s going to change.
So what’s changed since the beginning of September? Both kids now go to school so no double pick up from different locations. That is great!
My daughter caught covid towards the end of September which wasn’t as bad as it could have been. We were very lucky that it didn’t impact her too much and ended up having the symptoms of a heavy cold/light flu. We’re very thankful for that. As she was feeling quite anxious about catching “the germ” she had got to the point of washing her hands a lot etc. so actually, looking back in hindsight, it was a blessing in disguise. She has been so much more relaxed and back to her normal self as there hasn’t been “the fear” of catching the virus.
Work is still work. Not going to lie it’s been a mental struggle the past few months and I am very glad for a reasonable break over the Christmas period. Getting out for some exercise has been a challenge due to weather etc. and mentally being able to switch off has been tough. I need to make sure I take more care of my mental health in the new year.
And with that I want to wish all readers (if there are any!) a very happy and relaxing Christmas!
